Kellen Winslow has been stirring up controversy since he was in college at the University of Miami but one thing is for certain the guy is an athletic freak. At 6'4 and 240 lbs. and moving like a wide receiver he can give all the credit to the Kellen Winslow workout and a touch of genetics.
Since he was at Miami this guy has been dominating in the weight room and on the field. His intensity when practicing is like no other and that is what carries over onto game day.
The biggest asset of Kellen through the years is arguably his ability to move like a wide receiver in a tight ends body. This kind of athleticism creates hell for defenders because he's too fast for linebackers and too big for defensive backs and the guy catches anything in his way…
Even though he has the genetics of a football player he still understands how valuable a proper training program is essential to his preparation and progression for each season.
When Kellen trains he knows to make sure to involve the movements or exercises that are going to help him translate speed and power onto the field. So for his training he makes sure to train speed, power, strength and hypertrophy to maintain his massive build. To do this he needs to properly balance these and peak him before season starts.
He does this by developing through separate phases that will build on top of each other…
Example: he would first build his strength which would carry over to power and then finishes with speed right before the season starts for him.
To get a better example of his training check out this guys here.
