Eric Berry out performed every DB in the combine and has made an immediate mark in the NFL because of his tenacity. You see Eric hasn't lost touch about 2 things that's made him the defender he is today… Eric Berry toughness and the Eric Berry workout.
I have been a huge fan of this guy for years when he first started without the Volunteers and it's mainly because he plays with that old school intensity not this finesse crap that all the DB's these days have. He's not scared to come up and make a hit and it won't be at any runningbacks knees. He reminds me of one of my old favorite, Sean Taylor (even tapes his fingers like him too).
In addition to his tenacity and intense play he carries this same attitude over when he's training. While at his time at Tennessee they have a tradition where the best players must set the tempo for each workout and according to the coaches he did just that. They even said there wasn't a practice that he wouldn't come out first in each and every drill. And when he went in the weight room it was the same effort, he would say how when workouts would call for 6-8 reps he would always make sure to get 10-12.
This is the kind of player that coaches are looking for guys that come in and realize the more work you put in the better you will be on the field. It's about having the right training program, work ethic, and determination. Eric also claims it takes day in and day out motivation. If you need some of that just watch this video before your next workout…
